Martha "Matty" Hannagan (Harrington) (c.1807 - 1891)
Martha "Matty" Hannagan (alias Harrington) came to Australia as a convict on "The Brothers".
One can only wonder what conditions were like, especially for a convict, on such a small ship.

(Left) The grave of Samuel and Martha Hill at Rookwood Cemetery. The grave also contains their son Joseph and his wife Julia (Right) The Inscription for Martha on the headstone. It reads : Also his beloved wife MARTHA Who died 20th November 1891 Aged 85 years "FATHER LET THY GRACE BE GIVEN THAT WE MAY MEET IN HEAVEN" |
