Rachel's letter to John Edward Owen
62 Isedale St
Dear John

Just a line hoping this will find you all very well. We were very pleased to hear of your dad coming on so well and we sincerely hope he continues to do so. Pop and I are OK and doing alright. We are having glorious weather up here at present. In fact it was very hot here yesterday just like a summers day in Sydney. We have had a week of lovely weather but to day it has cooled off a bit. There is a wind blowing and it is a very cold wind, a bit icy.

Well John I sent you a card about three weeks ago with a £1 note enclosed. I hope you received it alright. I was a bit anxious to know. I hope your mum and Denise are well also yourself and dad.

There is a Wog going around Brisbane. Aunty Lucy and family have all been very ill with it but are getting better. They are coming here tomorrow Saturday if they are well enough. The different ones have a few outings lined up for us health permitting. We are looking forward to them very much. I suppose Uncle Frank is home from hospital. We heard his car was there waiting for him. I hope he will look after himself and not overdo things.

So now hoping everybody is OK at your home I will now say bye from Nana. Just drop me a line if you got the money. Nana xxx

Best love to your mother & the rest.
