More Information about George       More Information about Janet (Jenny)

George Arthur Boreham (1873 - 1961)
& Janet Ellen Gegg (Jnr) (1880 - 1970)

George and Jenny lived about 14 kms out from Bungendore on a property called "The Briars".
These are buildings which would have been familiar to them while they lived there (at least 1909 - 1911 - See Postcards below)

St Philip's Anglican Church (left) was built in Gothic Revival style in 1864 while The Royal Hotel was opened in 1886 by John McMahon as "Macs Royal Hotel" and has been continuously licensed ever since

These attractive houses are currently (2012) the Post Office and the Police Station

This clipping was found in Florist Gegg's Birthday Book on the page covering 4 - 6 March.
It is unknown to what event the clipping is referring.

Got the threshing No 1 over on monday, timed it very well. Have 40 acres of Wheat & Oats to cut yet. So we will have another threshing. Had 604 points rain last week. 69 last night & is raining again this evening. Have had something over 4 inches for the month. ? leaves here yet. Mrs Boreham was going to Cooma this morning weather permitting so I don't know if she went or not. Had a good flood in the river on Friday last. Mailman could not get across with the nights mail till Sat morning.

Just a p.c. hoping to find all well as this leaves all well here. Dudley has gone home with (?) Lewis for a few weeks, if he will stay. Arthur has not any corn thrashed now , but says he can get some thrashed if you want any. Would write a letter but out of stamps today so have to fall back on a postcard. I expect Bert is at home now. Have you any tomatoes yet if so what are you selling them for.
