ARRIVAL OF THE MELITA

The ship Melita, Captain Grant, from London, anchored in the harbour yesterday afternoon. She sailed from Gravesend on the 22nd August, and was detained three weeks in the Channel. She has been fourteen days off the land here, owing to strong N W gales. She brings eight passengers and a large general cargo for Wellington and Timaru, and is consigned to Edward Pearce & Co.
