ARRIVAL OF THE SHIP LEICHARDT
The Press November 25th 1866

The ship Leichardt, Captain Philips, arived in harbour on Friday at half-past five pm. She left the Downs on August 10; off the Start August 17, and sighted Madeira August 28. Experienced very light N E trades. Crossed the Equator September 20; sighted Tristan de Acunha October 10, and passed the meridian of the Cape October 20. Ran down in from 45 to 47 degrees south. Sighted the Snareas at two pm on Wednesday, November 21. Tairaoa head on November 22 at noon, and arrived as above. Spoke the following vessels on the voyage: -
September 4, Nourmahal, ship, from London
to Sydney; latitude 18 degrees N, longitude 27 degrees W. September 8, Falcon, ship, from Foo Choo to London; latitude 11 degrees N, longitude 26 degrees W. September 16, Shannon, ship, from London to calcutta; latitude 2 degrees N, longitude 16 degrees W.
