ARRIVAL OF THE GOLCONDA

The Golconda, Capt. Montgomery, left the Downs on 7th and Land's End on 10 January. Sighted Madeira on 28 and St. Antonio on 5th February; crossed the line on 12th. Passed t;he meridian of the Cape on 20 March; the Lewin on 14th and Cape Van Dieman on the 22 April. Made the North Cape on 2 May and had to beat up along the coast; arrived on the afternoon on 5 May. She sighted a Norwegian barque, the Panope, from London to Otago. 112 days out, all well. She has brought a large general cargo and 28 passengers. Two births and no deaths, all in good health.
