ARRIVAL OF THE CLARA
The Southern Cross March 26th 1850
The ship Clara, Capt Potter, made an average passage of 125 days from the Downs. She left St Katherine Docks on 8 November, experiencing heavy weather in the Channel; bore up for the Downs whence she sailed 18 November. Experienced favourable weather throughout but met with 10 days detention after making the coast. She did not call at any port on the passage. Spoke the Emily Smith to east of St Paula bound from Angola Bay to Launceston.
