Brown. He and Elizabeth Cook were married in Jasper County,
Georgia. This family has not been located after 1860. At
that time they were living in Sumter County, Ga.

It is Jordan Davis Brown moved to Butler County during the year
1860, as he was located there during the census.
He served the Confederacy during the Civil War and was wound
twice. He enlisted in Covington County, Alabama with the 40th
Alabama Infantry. Battles included the Vicksburg Campaign,
Tennessee, and the defense of Atlanta. Jordans
service took him into the Carolinas with Gen. Joe Johnson. They
surrendered at Yadkin Bridge in North Caroline about the same
time Gen. Robert E. Lee surrendered to Gen. Grant at Appomattox,
Virginia.
No information has been located about Jordan Davis first
marriage. There was one child, Ada Caroline Brown, born to
the marriage. She was born in Covington County, Alabama.
Jordan married Victoria Alice Damon in Butler County, Alabama
near Garland. Victoria was the daughter of Jordans
sisters husband.
Shortly after his marriage, the family moved to Walton County,
Florida, settling in the Portland Community. They raised
their children in that area. They were there when they passed
away. Both are buried in the Hatcher Cemetery near
Portland.

No name has been established for E. R. Brown. It is
believed that they were initials only. He has been called
Ernest Robert but no written documentation has been located to
confirm the name.
E. R. and Mary died in Walton County. Both are buried at
St. Johns Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida.

Most people knew Kenneth Jordan Brown as K. J. He was the
eldest son of E. R. and Mary Ann (Jennings) Brown.
He married Ethel Gardner in 1930 in Milton, Santa Rosa County,
Florida. They divorced a couple of years later. K. J.
never remarried. He relocated in the Houston, Texas area
where he worked as a pharmacist.
He died in Houston but his place of burial has not been located.
His brother Oswald is listed as informant on his death
certificate.
One son was born to this marriage: Kenneth Bruce Brown.

Born in Pensacola, Kenneth finished high school there before
being drafted into the US Army at the being of the Korean War.
He remained stateside during the entire conflict and returned to
Pensacola where he went to work in the newspaper industry.
Kenneth married Helen Jean McBride in Pascagoula, MS in 1957.
They moved to Texas and settled in the Houston area. They
Kenneth worked for his dad, and later owner a package store. They
divorced in 1970. He returned to Pensacola.
During
his years in this industry he worked as a pressman and mailer,
working his way from coast-to-coast at different newspapers.
He worked for newspapers in Pensacola, San Francisco, San Diego,
Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, and many more. In 1984, Kenneth
retired after working in Minneapolis and he returned to
Pensacola.
In
1998, Kenneth and Mildred Stinson were married in Centerville,
Leon County, Texas. He has returned to work part-time at a
newspaper where his wife also works. The live in the East
Texas Piney Woods on a small ranch where they raise Thoroughbred
horses.

Phillip grow up in the suburbs of Houston, Texas. He spent
time in Pensacola and San Diego. As a grown man right out
of high school, he married Cindy Barbee.
Phillip is a farrier by trade. He farms and trains horses
when time permits. He is also a roper and does some team
roping. He and his family live in Leon County, Texas.
Cindy Barbee Brown is the daughter of the late Kenneth Harold
Barbee and Dean Duree Duke. Her mother lives nearby.
