Willie Lee served in the US Navy during WWII and was aboard the USS Helena when it was sunk by the Japaneese. He survived. My brother Willie James remembers that Uncle Albert and Aunt Mary were visiting with Mom and Dad when they got the news of the sinking. They hurrily returned to their home in Jay FL.

Willie Lee and his wife worked as Chemstran in Pensacola making Nylon and other products. He also farmed the homestead of his dads.

My father William Marshall b 16 Mar 1898 worked for Dr Parrish as a farm

> Parrish lived in a big house in Midland City AL at the intersection of Wiley

In Fred Watson's Forgotten Trails, he writes:
William Abbritton Parris, of Midland City, was born July 31, 1876, at Chapel Hill, TX. He is the son of John Wesley and Sarah (Marshall) Parrish, the former a native of Echo, Dale County, AL, who later moved to Ozark where he became associated with the Southern Star, then moving to Chapel Hill, TX and a soldier in the Confederate States Army; grandson of James Parrish of Echo, and of Francis Joseph and Virginia (Bull) Marshall, also of Echo.

Senator Parrish was educated in the public schools of Dale, Geneva and Henry Counties, graduated from South East Alabama Agricultural College, at Abbeville in 1900, was granted first grade teacher's certificate and taught for a number of years in the schools of Dale, Henry, Geneva, and Pike Counties. He then took up the study of medicine, receiving a M. D. degree from the University of Nashville Medical College, 1909, and passed the medical examination of Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. He located at Campbellton FL, where he began the pratice of his profession and servied as mayor from 1910 to 1914. He removed to Midland City where he continued his practice. He served on both local and county school boards. He was a Democrat, a Methodist, an Odd Fellow, a Mason, A Shriner, and a Woodman of the World.

He marrried (1) Dec 25, 1909, at Nashville, TN, Emma daughter of Thomas an Laura F. (Flenner) Hugher, of that place, (2) July 31, 1918 at Hartford, Ettie Mae, daughterof George and Rebecca (Martin) Hatcher, of that place. Children Mary Lucile married Jack Ward, Emmet A, and adopted Dovie Rebecca McCrone, niece of Mrs. Parrish.

Dr. Parrish was an Alabama State Senator in 1935.

Willie James Marshall states that Dr. Parrish was sitting in the State Senate when his mother Sallie V. became ill with blood poisioning. She had developed pneumonia by the time Dr. Parrish returned and could not be saved.
