According to the 1907 census of CSA veterans, Lewis enlisted in the "summer of 1862" and was paroled at Augusta GA in March 1865. The name is shown as Louis Lafayette Worrels of Bradley, Ala. He was born in Cuthbert, Stewart County GA March 4, 1836; enlisted there in Co. "F", 32nd Georgia in
early 1862; paroled at Augusta GA in April 1865. The story I got from the Genforum.com site from others researching Lewis was that he was released in Tennessee with nothing in his pockets, and walked home with two others, one of whom was killed along the way.
