Martin Roop b. 1728 d. 1800 married Margaret Frey
Martin Roop b. 1728 d. 1800 married Margaret (seen as Margaret Frey on many sites and on family group sheets I have seen) and had the children you mentioned. I received some information on this family from another researcher and the children were born between ca. 1760-1774. It seems very unlikely to me that the mother would be the Margaret Frey who was married in 1750 in Lancaster County, PA. I cannot believe that the couple would not have any children the first 10 years of their marriage.
I believe that this is the Margaret Frey who is being confused with Margaret the wife of your Martin Roop b. 1728 d. 1800:
JOHANNES RUPP was born July 06, 1728 in The Palatinate, Germany, and died December 11, 1801 in Lebanon, Lebanon, Pa. He married MARGRETA FREY May 20, 1750 in Muddy Creek Church, Cocalico, Lancaster, Pa. Johannes Rupp came with his four brothers from "Middlepoltz", Germany in 1749. Contact was lost with his four brothers shortly after their arrival in America. According to immigration records Johannes Rupp arrived at Philadelphia 15 Sep 1749 on the ship "Phoenix." The record also indicates that passengers were "Foreigners from Zweybrech, Nassau, Wirtemberg and the Palatinate." At least 10 other Rupp's immigrated to various parts of Pennsylvania from Germany around that time.
Children of JOHANNES RUPP & MARGRETA FREY are:
i. MARIA CATHERINA RUPP, b. February 26, 1750/51; d. Bef. 1796; m. CHRISTIAN ZIMMERMAN.
ii. DORROTHEA RUPP, b. January 1753, Muddy Creek Church, Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Pa; m. JOHANNES KELLER, October 04, 1772, Muddy Creek Church, Cocalico Twp, Lebanon County, Pa.
iii. MARGARET RUPP, d. Abt. 1795; m. GEORGE ACHEY.
iv. ELIZABETH RUPP, b. February 16, 1760; m. JOHN REIST.
v. JOHANNES RUPP, b. October 01, 1762, Cocalico, Lebanon, Pa; d. December 14, 1814, Lebanon, Lebanon County, Pa.
vi. JACOB RUPP, m. CHRISTINA.
vii. DAUGHTER RUPP, m. ETTER.
viii. DAUGHTER RUPP, m. BLECHER.
Generation No. 2
2. JOHANNES RUPP (JOHANNES1) was born October 01, 1762 in Cocalico, Lebanon, Pa, and died December 14, 1814 in Lebanon, Lebanon County, Pa. He married ANNA CATHERINE HEILMAN April 18, 1786 in Lebanon County, Pa, daughter of ANASTASIUS HEILMAN and ROSINA MAURER.
Children of JOHANNES RUPP and ANNA HEILMAN are:
i. ELIZABETH RUPP, b. December 23, 1788, Lebanon Twp, Dauphin County, Pa; m. JOHN WIRSH.
ii. JACOB RUPP, b. October 24, 1790, Lebanon Twp, Dauphin County, Pa.
iii. JOHN RUPP, b. September 20, 1792, Lebanon Twp, Dauphin County, Pa; d. February 21, 1856, Lebanon, Lebanon County, Pa.
iv. GEORGE RUPP, b. Abt. 1794, Lebanon Twp, Dauphin County, Pa.
v. CATHERINE RUPP, b. December 26, 1796, Lebanon Twp, Dauphin County, Pa; m. CUSHLING.
vi. CHRISTINA RUPP, b. April 17, 1799, Lebanon Twp, Dauphin County, Pa; m. JOHN CRIDER.
vii. SARAH RUPP, b. February 20, 1801, Lebanon Twp, Dauphin County, Pa; m. MARTIN ZIMMERMAN.
viii. SAMUEL RUPP, b. May 14, 1803, Lebanon Twp, Dauphin County, Pa; d. January 07, 1875, Lebanon County, Pa; m. ANNA MARY.

xi. REBECCA RUPP, b. Abt. 1809, Lebanon Twp, Dauphin County, Pa; m. FELIX BOESHAR, January 12, 1829.
As you can see this Margaret Frey Rupp stayed in Pennsylvania and had her first child 9 months after her marriage.
I have a copy of Archie Rupe's "Genealogical Memoir of the Martin Roop Family of Shenandoah County, Virginia by his Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandson". It includes a hand drawn map of Martin Rupp's 157 acres acquisition: Oct. 8, 1785; Martin's last will and testament; marriage bond of Jacob Roop (s/o Martin) and Martha Price; photocopy of photo of John Tusing Rupe 1837-1929; descendants of Martin Rupe. Archie descends from Martin: Martin [1]; Jacob [2], William P. [3], John Tusing [4], Alfred Leon [5], Clarence Alfonso [6], Clarence Archie [7]. Some of the information may be from Martin [1], Martin [2], Martin [3], Joshua [4], William Martin [5], James E. [6], Carl Clifford [7], william [8], Donna Jenks/Sherry Hack/PamelaLaird [9].
The will of Martin Roop b. 1728 d. 1800 does prove that his wife was named Margaret and that his children were the one you listed. It does not prove that Margaret was a Frey. I have seen the following concerning this subject: "We do know his wife was named Margarett, however we do not know her maiden name. Some suggest her maiden name was Frey. We believe the Martin that married Margaret Frey remained in Penn. so are looking elsewhere. Martin wrote his will in June of 1800, probated in June 1801."
Louise Roop Akers, who has done most of the work on our Johann Jacob Rupp b. 1723 and Maria Barbara Nonnenmacher b. 1722 line, at one time thought Martin Roop b. 1828 d. 1800 was a brother of our Johann Jacob Rupp but we have not been able to prove this. Jacob and Barbara, as we call them, are the couple that have been seen on many sites as "Jacob and Michel". "Jacob and Michel" have been seen listed as the parents of your Martin Roop b. 1828 d. 1800 on several sites but this is not correct. The ages just don't match. Jacob and Barbara did have a son named Martin but he was born 1751.
I have not entered any of Martin's data into my family tree program since there is no connection to date with this family and mine. I may do this when time permits so that I can access the information faster. At the moment I have info on paper and in MS Word documents (taken from online sites) and it is a bit difficult to get it organized.
Hope I haven't confused you too much. If you let me know how you descend from Martin I may have something you are interested in. I also lived in France (Toul-Rosières AFB) from 1963-1966 but I was in 1st and 2nd grade then and attended a French primary school as we lived off-base. So French was the first language I learned to read and write. I lost a lot of it when we went back to the States and I refused to speak it with my Mom (my friends laughed). I did take 3 years in high school and now have to speak it practically on a daily basis as many people here are Portuguese, French or Belgian and speak on French. But that doesn't mean I am fluent, just that I get along. I do read it fluently and understand everything but the grammar gets me. I may have alread told you this. Thanks for the best wishes for my trip. The kids have their last day of school Tuesday. We are going to Spain in August. I think I may get to make my trip in early September. Have to work around their schedules and my husband's.
