Book p. 143-11 May 1812 Between Henry Rupp and Elizabeth his wife,
Shenandoah Co. said Henry being a son & devisee of Martin Rupp , dec’d, of Shenandoah Co. sold to George Biller of Rockinaham a tract of land lying and being on Miii creek, same tract of land which was granted to Martin Rupp dec’d by Patent 11 July 1792 and qiven to Henry by his will.
In a deed book in Shenandoah Co. (p. 143) it says Henry Rupp to Geo. Biller of Rockingham county, land on Mill Creek by patent 11 July, 1792. Deed made
July 13, 1812.
Then in 1841 an indenture said 170 acres on Mill Creek, same land as
conveyed to Geo. Biller Sr. by Henry Rupp & Elizabeth, 1812.
Shenandoah and Rockingham Counties were originally part of Frederick
County and this land is quite near what is now West Va. I believe Mill Creek was the dividing line between the two counties.

Notes: A deed for his land is in the Rockingham or Shenandoah County
"Burned Deed Book" with holes in it because during the Civil War, they
took all the deed books and put them on a hay wagon under hay because
they felt Union Troops would burn the Court House. The Union troops
stopped the hay wagon and set fire to the hay but put it out when they
were told there were just deeds under the hay, not Rebel Soldiers.
The Rupes and Zirkles both provided foodstuff to George Washington and
to the Rebel Troops in Virginia during the wars.

Henry Rupe was born in Shenanoah County, Virginia in 1770 the fourth child of Martin and Margaret. He married Elizabeth Price 15 Nov 1804 in Rockingham County, Va. Elizabeth was born 1782 in Virginia the daughter of David and Hannah. They had six children, five sons and a daughter. Henry inherited his fathers estate, 150 acres and personal property, and was to provide for his mothers care. Perhaps this is why he did not go earlier to Ohio with his brother Martin. In 1812 he did sell the property and left to join the family in Ohio. In 1815 he brought 50 acres, with house, from his nephew George.
This was part of the estate originally owned by his brother Martin. He sold this property in 1818 but remained in Gallia County. He passed away in said County in 1836 and his estate was settled 17 oct 1836. Value of the estate was $397.
