Herman William Schwartz

Herman William Schwartz was the son of Herman and Bertha Schwartz. Herman was born in Pritzenow Germany, located in the NE portion of Germany, east of Hamburg. He immigrated from the Port of Hamburg, Germany 19 Nov 1923 aboard the ship Thuringia, and arrived at Ellis Island, New York, 27 Nov 1923. Herman then came to Dundee Il., to the residence of his aunt and uncle, William and Mary (Guge) Leverenz.

Five years after Herman arrived in America, he married Elsa Clara Baetz. They were married at St Pauls United Church Of Christ in Elgin, Il on 15 Feb 1928. Herman and Clara had three children, Herman William, William Eric and Martha Elsa.

Herman and Clara are my paternal grandparents, their son William Eric is my father. Information in Family Group Records was obtained from family members, vital records, and obits.
