Growing up I was always told if you don't like something then you need to change it.
Don't wait for someone else to think of how, if you can think of a way write a letter to Washington.
My Grandmother Flossie Stephens wrote many letters to Washington D.C., editors of newspapers, Governors and
just about anyone else she could when she had an idea. The first items on this page will be from her scrapbook.

Page 1 Response from Jesse Helms.
She wrote about the problems with Social Security.

Envelope from letter above, she kept with the letter in the scrapbook.
He sent her a photo of President Roosevelt signing the Social Security Act of 1935.
It was one of the standard 8 X 10 photos, but, she treasured it and kept it with the letter. It did not scan well. Click on it to enlarge it to clear it up.

Flossie's idea mention on Opinion Page of Merced Sun Star
