Have a Query in McLennan County? 

While we have a lot of data in our personal library, much of it is related to our families in the area.   Central Texas Genealogical Society, Inc.  (CTGS) welcomes your queries!  CTGS has access to many more resources than we do. We are members of this organization and encourage your support of it. 

Please note that all of their queries are answered by volunteer members - while there is no charge, they would appreciate a donation.  Volunteer members make every effort to accurately research queries and help you find answers to your ancestors in the McLennan County area - but that's not all they do!  They also take initiatives to promote genealogical research and education in our community. 

They provide the following services:

  1. A search of the Waco-McLennan County Library collection for materials that pertains to your request.
  2. Compilation of data pertaining to the lookup request (single event), if found.
  3. Source information of author's name and address or publishing company's address if the source contains additional information that might be useful to the submitter.

E-mail Query Instructions:

Please send a short, descript e-mail specifically mentioning the information you are seeking (i.e. funeral record, census data,  cemetery record, marriage record, birth record, etc..)

By sending your e-mail you are authorizing CTGS to keep a copy of it (and response) in their catalog file for future genealogy-related use.

Please limit your request to a single event, such as a marriage record. A limited lookup is one that is limited to a single event, such as a marriage record, cemetery record or checking an index for a single entry.
Please do not ask for "everybody with X surname" or an entire family group.
Volunteers are unable to provide photocopies.
