He enlisted in the Union Army on 9 Aug 1862 at Rolla Barracks, MO. He served in the 32nd Regiment, Infantry Volunteers,
Company E. He died at Jackson Hospital in Memphis, TN. of acute diarrhea. He lived a little over six months after entering the Army. David F.'s residence
was around Lane's Praire in Maries County, MO.
