This is my great-great-great-grandmother. This family is particularly interesting because it marries into the Holloway family in several places and marries into itself on more than one occasion. There is much more information in my database on the Stanley, Mendenhall and Crew families, but I'm not sure of the accuracy. Many of these families were Quaker and the information is fairly accurate as far back as this goes. As the families moved west, they were asked to leave the church for marrying outside the monthly meetings. Always wondered where my rebel spirit came from.

Holloway and Sarah Stanley.

3. Catherine Elizabeth Stanley, born 02 January 1772 in Guilford County, North Carolina; died 16 August 1859 in Union County, Indiana. She was the daughter of 6. John Stanley and 7. Ann Ballard.

11. Elizabeth Coates, born 13 January 1721/22 in Providence, Montgomery, Pennsylvania; died 16 March 1770 in Guilford, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Moses Coates and Susannah.
