June 1   Links added to the Computer Room
  • Karin Peterson's website: "The Orphan Connection: Honoring Orphans Who Are Making a Difference in the World"; (found in section "Orphan Genealogy on the Web: Honoring Orphans" of the Orphans' Computer Room). You will recognize some of the names of the orphans at Karin's site; take a moment and read the stories behind the names!

  • Kelly Courtney-Blizzard's website: "Census Lookup Mailing Lists", which provides a link to each Census Lookup Mail list at Rootsweb; (found in section "Genealogy Links" of the Orphans' Computer Room). Kelly also provides links to additional on-line census projects.

  • Texas, Harris County, 1900
June 11 A Memorial page for the 3 students who died, and select pages from the "Annual Report of the Soldiers' Orphan Schools of Pennsylvania", have been added to the roster section.  PA Counties added: Pike, Potter, Schuylkill, Snyder, Somerset, and Sullivan.

The site search engine is now set to spider the Orphans' Guestbook entries as well as the Orphans' Message Boards and Orphan Listings.

This completes the 1902 Roster for this orphanage; 63 of PA's 67 counties are included in the listings.  My Thanks to Marian Mallory for donating the list to this website and to Carol Holmbeck for doing a superb job transcribing the entire list!
