First Orphanage Roster
  Began uploading statewide, 1902, Pennsylvania Soldiers' Orphan Schools   Roster. This will go up in stages, by PA county. Adams, Allegheny, Armstrong,   Beaver, Berks, Blair Counties are now on-line with 50+ counties yet to add.

New Lists:

  • Pennsylvania, 1910, next 100 names added to the St. Paul's R.C. Orphan Asylum, Allegheny County (Chartiers Twp); total is now 350 names. [St. Paul's is being uploaded in stages]
Census Citations added to Notepad for Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Kansas, Iowa, and Indiana (more states to add)

Belmont County Children's Home group pictures from 1929 and 1930, and article re reunion in 1990's. The pictures and article, donated by Sandy Saboley, can be accessed from either "Orphan Genealogy on the Web" (a section in the Computer Room), or "Orphanage Factsheets" (link on homepage). Click on Belmont County Children's Home, then scroll to the footnote and click on the link.

Ancestry.com has recently and graciously granted permission to the Orphans' Home Website to use their on-line census images as an additional source of lists for our transcriptions. Thank you very much, Ancestry.com!

A search engine for this website has been added to the homepage.  The search engine is powered by FreeFind and includes a built-in site map.
