The first informal get-together of some of the regulars on the list.
The photos were taken in the bar of the Riverside Hotel, Kendal.

Nigel enjoying the pint bought by Jean (well, actually, by her husband, Alan
as Jean had forgotten her purse!) for tracking down a couple of ancestors via the Ellis Island site
(the hard earned fruits of successful detective work....)

The next get-together was arranged to coincide with a visit to Westmorland by list member
Susan Gandy who, with her cousin Sheryl, had travelled to the UK from Sydney, Australia. 
The venue this time was the Kendal Arms, Kendal.

What a motley crew - compete with sweetie hamper (see below)!!

Everyone will, no doubt, remember the recent postings about the sweets we all recall from our youth.
To demonstrate how 'seriously' this subject has been taken,
this hamper was presented to the group members at the Kendal Arms!
Doesn't it just make your mouth water? Needless to say, there wasn't much left!
