INTRODUCTION
The Family of Orange
Relatives of Abraham Orange arrive in England around 1687-1688
[For reference purposes, Abraham Orange will be referred to as ABE, otherwise too confusing!]
[A Little background… If you are researching the Orange name from London, and you have got as far back as the mid 1800’s, then there is a very high possibility that you descend from ABE, who arrived in England in 1687, then aged 19/20, a refugee from Bolbec]
ABE came to London as a French Refugee and is recorded here in 1687 and would have been in his 20th year… He came without his parents or sibling, but alongside him in London were his relatives from Bolbec…….

Then,
June 1698 Huguenot Refugees – new convertists from Bolbec no:419
Jean’s wife Judith, “widow” age 58 with children Marthe, 28 and Madeleine, 26

Abe’s cousin Judith Orange [1664-G5],, met Isaac Desramey. He was a French refugee recorded in the Huguenot Archives in London on 10 June 1688.
Judith and Isaac married in London……
So far I have discovered the following children from their marriage:

Judith born 17 March 1695 in Saint Jean French Huguenot Spitalfields,
And,

Then came: Esther and Jean both christened on same date 16 Aug 1696 (Same location)- [ their births could be a year apart]

[It now makes sense that Abraham met his wife Suzanne here in London,( possibly a refugee herself..) There is evidence to suggest that her nee name was “ Janvier” recorded in the Huguenot Archives] So please take this latest information into account, when reading the Story of Abraham Orange.. It will be amended as soon as I get time!!
I hope you find the above information useful and don’t forget, you can always email me with any questions or comments.…..
I have not located any “ships passenger lists” recording Abe’s family name - French refugees in to London..
The descendants of ABE’s family can be located on my rootsweb page at Ancestry.
His ancestors will soon be published.
And of Course, the question still remains as to the background on Suzanne “Janvier” where did she come from, and who were her parents?,…
