The Stevens family originate so far from Cheam, Surrey, where Richard was born abt 1770.

On the Vicarage Board inside the Parish Church of Cheam - I found names of the following vicars:

Henry Peach 1780 d 1813
Rev William Bennett 1813 - 1856
Rev Thos Cateret Maule 1856 - 1867
Rev Charles Hobbs Rice 1867 - 1904 when he died

Reverend Henry Peach would have married Richard and Esther Ede on 6 Feb 1790.

Richard and Esther had 7 children;
Son Richard married Maria Moorcroft in 1827, he was a taylor and they raised 7 children in the Parish.

Son Stephen was a bootmaker who lived in Sutton area with his family

Son Charles(bn 1807) was a Master Bootmaker and is recorded in the Post Office Directory of 1878. Charles own son "Charles" born 1829 Cheam also became a Boot and Shoemaker and continued his trade in Manchester, before 1861, where he settled with his family.

Amelia dau of Charles (1807) married John Peters and they raised 6 children in Cheam.
