SUCCESS STORY
Update April 2008: Orange Family History now extends beyond 1580!

What are the chances of tracing your tree so far back, that you come to a grinding halt? Perhaps, because you discover they came from abroad?!!...

Well, Don't be disheartened....

Part of researching, is to make contact with new Cousins along the way, sharing of notes and making new discovieries.. I have made many new contacts with Orange Cousins all searching the Name from London. An incredible amout of time taken and emails containing important information, lots of questions and answers being exchanged " down the net", all of us eager to know our past....But we never had enough information to enable us to cross the border into France and find our French Cousins....

Our Branch of the Orange Family stems from London, and after years of research we came to a grinding halt...

As we researched further back, we discovered Abraham - the link to our past, with an estimated birth date of 1660, born, Bolbec, France, ...

I have been in correspondence with many new cousins, exchanging, names dates, locations, parentage, etc to try and learn more about our past and from where we came....

What is more remarkable, I received contact from a New Cousin in France, this weekend...

Easter Bank Holiday 2006... to discover Abraham was born 335 years ago!! It is indeed a very Exciting Time, for our English and French Researchers, as we "CROSS THE BORDER" and exchange information....

It is the first time in "Orange" Genealogy HISTORY that the Name from London can NOW be linked with their Ancestors en France and vice versa!!!!

It is indeed FANTASTIC NEWS.... and will enable our French Cousins to learn more about the lives of their Families in England from the mid 1600's and discover recent Histories.... And, WE can now STEP BACK FURTHER IN TIME to at least as far back as 1500!!...

Furthermore, a relative/cousin, from the North of England is now researching at the Family Records Centre, in London, busy trying to obtain as much information as possible from our findings!!!

More News to Come Soon

update April 2008
I am delighted to announce, that since 2006 when I discovered my great ancestor Abraham Orange came to London in 1687 as a Huguenot Refugee, from Bolbec, France, the ancestoral line now goes back to at least 1580 Bolbec, Lintot, Normandie France.. For those of you who visit my site regularly, would have noticed the regular updates to my tree, and have by now learned of our connections which extend beyond 1580!
