     Edward Willis COLEMAN was born on 20 March 1818, son of John COLEMAN and Nancy BURT. From the family history narrated in 1885 by his sister Martha, "Willis Coleman the youngest son [of John Coleman] has been overlooked. He lived among the relatives working as a farm hand until his marriage in February 1837. The first year of his marriage he lived with his uncle, Thomas Coleman. In January 1836 he moved to Montgomery County and has not lived in this county [Autauga] since. He married a Miss Mariah Journigan, had nine children- all died young but two twin boys."1
     Edward married Mariah JOURNIGAN on 10 February 1837 in Autauga County, Alabama.2
     Edward Willis COLEMAN died after 1885 in Montgomery County, Alabama.
