Martha married Ladimon SHELTON, son of Burrell SHELTON and Mary Hurst, circa 1757 in Halifax County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of John Brown, who left a will 13 Mar 1758 in Halifax County. The will probated in June 1759 named these heirs: son Nathan, wife Patience, Patience Pope, Elizabeth Edwards, Priscilla Brown, Hardy Brown, Henrietta Brown, Sarah Brown, Olive Brown, grandson Bural Shelton. Nathan Brown, Samuel Edwards and Ladimon Shelton executors. John Pope, Geo. Crudup, and Nicholas Dixon were witnesses.1
