     Smith M. HUNT was born on 24 November 1908 in Autauga County, Alabama, son of John Rice HUNT and Cynthia D. GIBBONS.
     Smith M. HUNT appeared on a census, enumerated 21 April 1910, in the household of John Rice HUNT and Cynthia D. GIBBONS in Autauga County, Alabama. He was listed as Smith M. Hunt, age 1.1
     Smith married Ruth Fidler on 4 June 1933 in Autauga County, Alabama. Their wedding announcement read: "A wedding of interest to friends in Prattville was that of Miss Ruth Fidler and Mr. Smith Hunt, which was solemnized at the home of Dr. H. M. Andrews, in Montgomery Sunday morning, May 28th at ten o'clock.
     Both these young people are residents of Montgomery, where Mr. Hunt, formerly of Prattville, holds a responsible position with the store of Isaac Silver.
     After a wedding trip, the bridal couple returned to Montgomery where they will be at home to their friends at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hunt."2
     During World War II Smith served in the merchant marine in the Pacific, Mediterranean and the Atlantic Oceans. He was awarded medals for distinguished service.
     Smith M. HUNT died on 23 July 1975 in Autauga County, Alabama, at age 66.3 He was buried in Pine Level Cemetery.
