     William ABNEY was born in 1760 in Amelia County, Virginia, son of Capt. William ABNEY and Mary CLARK.
     William married Bathsheba POPE, daughter of Jacob POPE.
     William ABNEY died after 1812 in Edgefield (now Saluda) County, South Carolina. He was buried in Abney Family Cemetery.
