John ABNEY was born in 1476 in Willesley, Derbyshire, England, son of William ABNEY. He was a knight and Lord of Willesley. It is not known how John came to be sole Lord of Willesley, but he was in fact the first sole Lord.
John married Margaret (?) circa 1500. They were the parents of six children, three boys and three girls.
John ABNEY died on 1 September 1550 in Willesley, Derbyshire, England.1 He was buried in the chancel (beneath the floor), Willesley Manor.
