Lilian Huntley

My Grandaunt - On My Mother's Side

Lilian Clara Huntley, fourth child of James and Minnie Huntley (nee Gooding), was born on 15 May 1905 at Kaiwaiwai, near Featherston.

Lilian was born with Down's Syndrome, referred to at the time as 'Mongolism'.

At the age of 22 she suffered heart failure brought on by scarlet fever and was transferred from the family's home at 19 Linton Street to Palmerston North Hospital where she passed away on 29 June 1928.
