"THE ADVERTISER" December 2, 1914 Moulton, Alabama:
J. N. King, one of our oldest and best men, has raised 4 bales of cotton and plenty of corn to do him with his own hands. This is enough to make some men hide their faces in shame, and now let his boys get their old sire in a supply of good wood for the winter.
We passed up through Moulton the other night on an auto, beneath the twinkling stars and flashing store lights and did not know our old town. When the court house was pointed out to us it looked like a block of diamonds in the sky, and we wondered if this could be our abiding place.
Glad to see Bro. J. N. King able to be out, and hope soon to report him in perfect health again. He is now 74 years old, and has always been a good citizen. Though poor, he meets his obligations promptly and enjoys the confidence of everybody. He has been twice married and is the proud father of 15 Children, who never neglect him in time of need. His soldier record is with out a blemish, and he wore the gray with pride as well as honor. He is rather feeble, and his boys will see that plenty of good wood is piled up for him this winter. They are bulit that way, and we hear the ring of pole axes now near the grand old man's quiet home.
