THESE OLLISES NEED A HOME

I receive information on Ollises sometime that do not fit anywhere of the TREE.

I will post these finding here in hopes that someone will be able to find a home on the TREE for these Ollises. These posting will be similar to those posting found while surfing, but they are just from another source.

Hopefully this will give our lost Ollis cousin's more exposure. I think it better to put the information here than in a shoebox waiting to make a connection. If in the shoebox, only I know about them and at my age I may forget.

At the present these Ollises do not fit on the TREE and were found in the 1860 Williamson County, Illinois census.

Jackson Ollis age 32 b. abt 1828 in Ky. farmer in Marion twp. Williamson County, Il.

Mary A?tt age 30 b. 1830 in Il. keeping house.

I was born in Morganton, North Carolina. My father was Quentin, my grandfather William, and my great Grandfather was John. This is as far back as I can trace. This is my first contact with the given name "Quentin" associated with the Ollises.

That was all that was in the small book no other writing as to who it belong to or where it had came from. It was laying high up on the book shelf at the LDS library. I left it where I found it with a note if the one it belong to would call or e-mail me if they were interested in the Ollises.

[I am Prentis L. Ollis, and doing research on the surname OLLIS. I have  observed that you have a Richard Ollis in your data posted with GenServ. I would be interested in exchanging information with anyone on the surname OLLIS.]

Dear Ollie,

I am afraid I have little knowledge of the Ollis line of Maureen Elizabeth Ollis, a distant cousin of mine. What information I have I now enclose through the wonders of computerization. How different would have been my response twenty-five years ago -when I began to research my family, it would have been a prohibitive amount of work.

I hope this is of interest.

Best wishes,

Ken
