On July 30, 2001, we lost a great
American, Husband and Father. Baxter loved his Ollis Heritage and
spent considerable time researching his ancestry. He is credited
as one of the first researchers into the Ollis Family History in the
United States.
Baxter will be greatly missed by of
all us who knew him, maybe not in person, but through his work and
motivation in seeking out the past of the Ollis Family. |

| A great lady of the Ollis Family,
Rose Nita Bowman Ollis, died November 14, 2001, almost four months after
her husband Baxter. Rose and Baxter were married for 55 years and
brought into this world two outstanding sons: Aaron and Keith. Our prayers
and thought are with this wonderful family and we acknowledge the loss of
a loving wife and mother. |

Ollie,
It seems as if I have been the bearer of bad news this year.
My mother, Noonie Ollis, called me tonight and told me that my Aunt Nita
Ollis (Baxter Ollis's widow) passed away today. My cousins,
Aaron and Keith, must just be beside themselves after having lost
both parents in the same year. It is my hope that both of my cousins will
be richly blessed for having taken such good care of their parents
during their time of need.
I am sincerely grateful for the tribute you documented on the Ollis
website regarding my Uncle Baxter Ollis.
Wishing you all the best!
Pete Ollis |
