The Will of William Sharpe a Gentleman of West Smithfields London (Dated 1807)

In the name of God Amen this is the last Will and Testament of me William Sharpe of West Smithfields in the City of London Gentleman I desire to be decently buried in the church yard of the Parish Church of St Mary Islington in the County of Middlesex as near to the remains of my late dear wife and children as may be and direct that all my just debts funeral expenses and testamentery charges be fully paid and satisfied as soon as convieniently may be after my decease I give and bequeath to Thomas Sharpe of Clerkenwell Close in the Parish of Saint James Clerkenwell in the said County of Middlesex for and during the term of his natural life two quarter loaves per week and the sum of one shilling per week for and towards his lodging and as to all the rest and residue of my estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever the same doth shall or may consist after the payment of my just debts funeral expenses testamentery charges legacies and bequests and subject thereto I give and bequeath the same unto my six children Daniel Sharpe William Sharpe James Sharpe Elizabeth Bracher wife of Samuel Bracher of Wily in the County of Wilts. Farmer Alice Ollyer Collier Widow and Maria Ann Tarling wife of James Tarling of Queens Row Pentonville Hay Salesman their exors. admons and assigns in equal shares and proportions share and share alike as tenants in common their hiers exors. admons and assigns forever according to the respective natures and qualities thereof and in case any or either of my said six children shall happen to depart this life in my lifetime and shall have issue one or more child or children of their his or her respective bodies or body lawfully begotten living at the time of his or her decease or born in one time afterwards then and in such case I give and bequeath the legacy or share hereby intended and provided for every such child so departing this life in my lifetime and leaving issue one or more child or children of his or her body lawfully begotten living at the time of his or her decease or born in one time afterwards unto such his or her child or children equally to be divided between them share and share alike if more than one as tenants in common their hiers exors. admons and assigns respectivley provided always and I do hereby declare that it shall and may be lawfull to and for the trustees and exors. of this my will from time to time to deduct and reinburse himself and themselves respectively and to pay to his respective co. trustee or co. trustees by and out all or any of the monies which shall come to his their or any of their hands respectively all such costs charges damages and expenses whatsoever which they or any or either of them respectively shall actually bear pay expend or be partunto in about or relating to the trusts aforsaid by reason or in consequence thereof and that they or any or either of them their or any or either of their exors. or admons respectively shall not be charged or chargeable the one for the other of them but only each of them for his and their own respective receipts payments acts and wilful defaults and not otherwise and shall not be charged or chargeable with any sums or sums of money other than such as shall actually come to his or their hands respectively by virtue hereof (their joining in any receipt or receipts for the sake of conformity notwithstanding) nor with or for any loss or damage which may happen by reason of the exon. of any of the trusts aforsaid so as the same happen without their respective wilful defaults and lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said sons Daniel Sharpe and William Sharpe exors. of this my will hereby revoking and making void all former and other wills by me at any time hereuntofore made and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I the said William Sharpe have to this my last Will and Testament contained in one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this second day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven the X mark of William Sharpe signed sealed published and declared by the said William Sharpe the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereunto the same being carefully read to him previous to his putting his mark hereto Thomas Orchard 5 Hatton Garden [signed] William Orchard his Clerk [signed]
This Will was proved at London on the thirtieth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven before the worshipful Samuel Pearce parson Doctor of Laws surrogate of the Right Honorable Sir William [...?...] [...?...] Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commisary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of William Sharpe Esquire the son of the deceased and one of the executors named in the said will to whom admon. was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased haveing first been sworn duly to administer Power reserved of making the like grant to Daniel Sharpe the son also of the said deceased and the other executor named in the said will when he shall apply for the same.

Executors are two of his sons, Daniel & William Sharpe.
William signed with his mark, witnesses were Thomas Orchard of 5 Hatton Garden & William Orchard his Clerk, both signed.
The will was proved in 1807 to William Sharpe one of the named executors in the will.
William married Sarah Troutbeck who was the daughter of William & Mary Troutbeck (nee Ollyer) Mary was the daughter of Richard Ollyer the Brewer of Holborn, London, who died in 1745.
