The Will of Rev. Samuel Prince of Sherfield, Southampton (dated 1790)

In the Name of God Amen I Samuel Prince of Sherfield in the County of Southampton Clerk being of sound and disposing mind and memory reflecting on the uncertainty of his mortal life do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say first I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it hoping to be saved this the merits of Jesus Christ and my body [...?...] to the [...?...] to be buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named and as concerning all my worldly or temporal Estate I dispose of the same as follows I give unto my Son Fifty pounds to be paid unto him by Alice Ollyer after named my Executrix within three months after my decease in the next place all the residue of my personal Estate and all my real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever I give devise and bequeath unto Alice Ollyer of Sherfield aforesaid her hiers Executors and Administrators and afsigns forever and I do make nominate and appoint the said Alice Ollyer full and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and hereby revoking all former wills heretofore made do declare these presents to be my last Will and Testament only in witnefs whereof the said Samuel Prince the Testator set my hand and Seal the twenty fourth day of October in the year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty nine Sam; Prince [signed] signed sealed published and declared by the sd. Samuel Prince the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our names as witnefses in the presence of the said Testator at his request and in the presence of each other William Usher [signed] John Freeman [signed] The mark of X Rhoda Nidler.
This Will was proved at London on the twenty ninth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand sevenhundred and ninety before the worshipful James Henry Arnold D of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne Knight and D of Laws and Master Keeper or Commifsary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Alice Ollyer Spinster the sole Executrix named in the Will whom administration was granted all and singular the goods chattels and Credits of the deceased having been first sworn duly to administer.
