In The Name of God Amen I Joseph Ollyer of Minfhull Vernon In the County of Chester Yeoman being infirme in Body but of perfect mind and memory This nineteenth day of October one thoufand seven hundred and twenty four doe declare this my laft will and Testament in manner and forme following That is to Say After my funerall expences are discharge out of what money is owing.
Imprm. All my personall Estate I would have to be Sould and What money Can be raifed of and by My Sd. Goods, and what money Is oweing to mee to be putt out at Interest One halfe of whatt It Amounts to I give and bequeath unto my two Sones Thomas and Joseph to be Equally Devoided betwixt them when the attain to the age of Twenty one Years and the Interest there of to goe towards their mentaineance during that time, And the other halfe to be devided Equally Amongst my Three Daughters Elizabeth Ann and Damaris when they Shall come to Age or Marry, but out of My Sd. Daughters part There is One hundred pound to Continue att Interest during My loveing Wifes life which Interest of the £100 is to be paid her Yearly by My Executors So long as She Lives, and at her Deceafe ye Sd. £100 is to be Equally devoided amongft My Sd. Daughters, or If any of them Should happen to dye in ye meantime I will It be devided amongst their Children And If It Should happen That Either of My Sd. Sones Should Dye before the attaine to ye Sd. Twenty one Years of Age that the other is to have and Recieve the whole I nominate and Appoint My Loving Wife My Brother Richard Ollyer William Dean and Joseph Dean my Brother in Laws Executors of This my laft will & testament. Note: The above latin indicates that Joseph Ollyer's wife Alice and his two brothers in law William and Joseph dean, the named executors, were present when the will was proved, but Richard Ollyer's power as executor was reserved. This would reinforce the fact that he was probably in London, where we know he lived at that time and therefore could not be present on that date.
Note: Joseph was the son of William Ollier of Wimboldsley.
Below is a transcription of the inventory, the original document is very difficult to read, the value of the goods in the first half are either to difficult to read or are missing.
