SIMMONS-MORGAN WEDDING

On Wednesday, Feb. 23, 1887, in the Methodist Church at Floyd, Virginia, Dr. John Webb Simmons married Miss Lizzie, daughter of Capt. W.H. Morgan. A large number of friends were present to witness the ceremony. The bride was attired in white satin and presented a queenly appearance. The attendants were Miss Anna Morgan and J.L. Boyd; Miss Olivia Simmons and B.S. Pedigo; Miss Nellie Edwards and W.D. Tompkins; Miss Pattie Jett and W.T. Old. J.D. Martin and Ward Tompkins were ushers. After the ceremony, the happy party of friends repaired to the residence of the bridegroom to partake of a sumptuous supper.
