INVESTIGATION INTO SHOOTING


DEATH OF APOPKAN CONTINUES

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting death of Apopka resident Darlene Boykin, 402 W. Keene Rd., which occurred on April 25.

According to Corporal Carlos Torres, deputies responded to a call to check on Boykin's well-being at about 7:48 p.m., and they found her dead with a gunshot wound. They then contacted the caller, Torres said, who said that Boykin's boyfriend, Pedro Lebron, could possibly have some involvement with her shooting, and where they could find him. He was located at 625 12th St., Apopka, with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he remains in stable condition. He is currently not talking to investigators about the shooting, Torres said.

At this time, no charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.
