RUBY ELEANOR CARPENTER, 74, Ocoee, died Tuesday, December 16. Mrs. Carpenter was a citrus worker for Plymouth Citrus and a custodian for Deep South. Born in Wilcox County, Georgia, she moved to Central Florida in 1945. Survivors: son, Chris, Atlanta, Ga.; daughters, Ann Upchurch, Tupelo, Miss., Vicky Wright, Fruitland Park; brothers, Homer McCullars, Leesburg, Ernest McCullars, Reynolds, Ga.; sisters Eva Harris, Apopka, Nadine Mayes, Cordele, Ga., Mildred Cox, Pensacola, Frances Lee, Riverdale, Ga.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. APRIL LI DUNTON LERNER, 46 Mantis Loop, Apopka, died Monday, December 15. Mrs. Lerner was a charge nurse for Leesburg Regional Medical Center. She was born in DeLand and was a lifelong resident of Central Florida. Survivors: husband, Jerry; parents, Dr. Loren Alonzo Dunton and Elizabeth Dunton, both of DeLand; sisters, Jere Lea Grier, Longwood, Valeri Grub, DeLand; brother L.A. Dunton, Jr., Orange City. RANDAL A. "POPPY"/"RANDY" MCHAFFIE, 53, Tangerine, died Thursday, December 18. Mr. McHaffie was a former citrus grower and recently associated with Liberty National Life Insurance. He was a member of the Central Florida Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He was a member of Zellwood United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors: wife, Susan B.; son, Kevin C., Zellwood; stepdaughter, Danya Lynette, Oviedo; brother Carl Elwood, Jr., Orlando; four grandchildren. Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis.

MARY K. HARMON, 72, Apopka, died Tuesday, December 16. Mrs. Harmon was a homemaker. She was a member of Apopka Church of the Nazarene. She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors: son, Bill, Greenville, Ohio, Steve, Jesse Smith, both of Apopka, Bruce, Summerfield, Terry, Lake Mary; daughter, Lorrie Robertson, Longwood; mother, Hazel Slife, Sydney, ohio; sister, Ruth Harris, Sidney; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. ELEANOR LOUISE CANTWELL, 79, Zellwood, died Sunday, December 21. Mrs. Cantwell was a school bus driver. Born in Cranston, Rhode Island, she moved to Central Florida in 1969. She was Baptist. Survivors: husband, William, Zellwood; daughters, Shirley A. Buday, Apopka, Debbie Carraro, Lake Worth; son, Jim, Fort Lauderdale; sister, Shirley Murray, Lake Worth; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Loomis Family Funeral Home, Apopka.

RODNEY THOMAS SIMPSON, 58, Apopka, died Sunday, December 21. Mr. Simpson was a manager in the nursery industry. He was a native of Florida. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Apopka Elks Lodge. He was a member of Plymouth Baptist Church.
