[fowlvill.ged] Howard Norman Villines was born 21December 1899 in Boxley, Newton Co., AR. Howard attended the local school and when of age he joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Smith, AR where he met and married Margaret. There were no children born to this union, however, Howard and Margaret adopted Marbeth Denise McGuire, the daughter of Joy Mae (Villines) and David McGuire. Joy Mae is the daughter of Howard's brother, Forrest Allen Villines. Howard and Margaret lebally adopted Marbeth and changed her name to Villines. He saw that Marbeth received a college education and when he died, Marbeth was his legal heir. Marbeth was married and had a child, Sabrina, born 20 October 1979. When Howard completed his Army service, he lived in Ohio and then moved to Florida and died in Santa Maria, California 23 March 1975. He and Margaret were both cremated. <center><b>Howard N. Villines</b></center> SANTA MARIA - Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 am, at the Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego for Howard N. Villines, 76, of 209 E. Sunset Ave. who died Sunday in a local hospital. Internment will follow at the Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. The Dudley-Hoffman MortuÂary is in charge of the local arrangements. Mr. Villines was a veteran of Army Air Corps Service in WW I and WW II, He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Blind Veterans Assn. and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2521. He had lived here for the past three years. Local survivors include a daughter, Marbeth Villines and a brother, Forrest both of Santa Maria.
