[fowlvill.ged] Clyde, as he was known, attended school at Walnut Grove. He learned to run the grist Mill at an early age and helped his father with the farm. After his brother, Robert "Hez" Villines was married in 1906, the responsibility of helping his father in the Mill and farming was turned over to Clyde. Clyde married Nellie Walker on April 25, 1917, by Rev. John A.W. Whiteley, at the home of Bert Walker. Nellie is the daughter of Robert and Mary (Sparks) Walker. She was sixteen when married and Clyde was eighteen. They lived across the road from his parents in the house next ot the Mill Pond. There, eight children were born. Two of their infant sons died and are buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Their first son, Kenneth Eugene, served in World War II. Clyde continued to be the Miller of the Grist Mill until the times had changed with modern transportation and larger mills in other cities, it was closed. He and Nellie lived on the farm where he was born until Clyde became ill and bedfast in 1983. The need to be near the medical facilities and have help for anellie to take care of Clyde, they made the difficult decision to move from Boxley and live with their daughter, Norma Lee and her husband Waymon Villines, in Jasper. After Clyde's death in 1985, Nellie moved back to her home next to the old Mill.
