Rites Saturday Morning for G. W. Farmer (obituary)
"Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Rudolph Funeral Home Chapel for George Washington Farmer, 73, who died at his home on Main Street early this morning.
"Mr. Farmer moved to Avalon in 1906 and was a resident of that community prior to establishing his home in this city, 16 years ago.
"A retired Farmer, he was born in Arkansas.
"He is survived by his wife, Mrs. G. W. Farmer of the home address; four sons--Claude Farmer, Bardwell, Willie Farmer, Bardwell, Edward Farmer, Ennis, and Harley Farmer, Fort Worth; three daughters--Mrs. M E Owen, Sardis, Mrs. Robert Keen, Grapeland, and Mrs. Clinton Laird, Waxahachie; one brother, J. T. Farmer, Oklahoma, one sister Mrs. J. R. Burton, Arkansas, 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Remains will lie in state at the Rudolph funeral home until the hour of service. Interment will be in Myrtle Cemetery, Ennis."
