| [fowlvill.ged] Source: Richard Kilgore, rk@rectec.net, GenForum contact He & his four children & first wife, Alta Woodruff lived in Markam Prairie, OK, which was near what is now Salina, OK, Mayes Cty, until her death in March of 1906. Ambrose and the four children returned to Low Gap to be close to his family, who could help him with the children. Seven months later, he married Stella Barr. She raised his children as her own, in addition to the nine children of their own. Ambrose loved telling stories of the "old days". After he retired from farming, he walked from his home on Mt. Sherman to Jasper, a distance of about five miles, almost every day. Stella was a wonderful lady who loved her family very much, and was always able to take time out of her busy days to spend with visiting family. They both are buried at the MT. Sherman Cemetery. NOTE-----According to Mary Harrell, when she ask Ambrose, when and who changed the spelling of Killgore? He answered, "Some smart _ _ _ came down from Chicago and did it", I suppose this was a census taker. My Grandpa loved the St. Louis Cardinals, he use to listen to the games on radio. One time it was told on him, during a game, a St. Louis batter was up to the plate and a strike was called on the batter, Grandpa said "That wasn't no strike". He was a very loving man but could, and would argue with a fence post. Richard Kilgore This obit graciously submitted by Sharon I.
