| [fowlvill.ged] Obiturary: <I>Kansas City Star</I>, 1-21-1993: Helen Irene Mullen, 76, southwest Kansas City, a publisher and editor, died January 19, 1993 at Baptist Medical Center. Services will be at 1pm Friday at Newcomer's Floral Hills Chapel; burial in Floral Hills Cemetary. Friends may call from 7-8pm today at the chapel. Mrs Mullen was editor of the East Side News and two weekly shopper publication, THe Pennypincher and the South City Shopper. She and her husband had ownded Mullen Publication, which publishes the papers since 1966. She was a member of the Pete Dover - Sam Danley post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxilary. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church, Kansas City. She was a former member of the Women's Chamber of Commerce of Kansas City. She was born in Eudora Kansas and had lived in Kansas city for 60 years. Survivors include her husband, James Patrick Mullen, of the home; a son, James Edward Mullen, and a daughter Linda K Eikel, both of Kansas City; two brothers, Delbert Mathia, Lawrence and Homer Mathia, Lathrop Mo; two sisters, Lottie Bowling, Shawnee and Alberta Elrod, Prairie Village; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. <PRE> Memorial Services card reads: Helen Irene Mullen died Jan 19, 1993 services D.
