| [fowlvill.ged] <center><b>Beecher Clark</b></center> Jasper businessman Beecher Clark died December 13 at Boone County Hospital after an extended illness. He was a licensed abstractor and real estate broker and was the owner of Ozark Real Estate and Abstract Company in Jasper. He also owned Newton County Hardware. Prior to opening the abstract office, Clark was a Farm Bureau insurance agent and later served on the Farm Bureau Board of Directors, holding several offices in that organization. In 1955, Clark was elected Newton County Circuit Clerk and held that office until December 31,1960. Before running for county office he taught school in Newton County. He was a member of Swain Lodge No. 765. He was born February 26, 1919, at Boxley, the son of: Kimble H. and Ola Edgmon Clark. Survivors include his wife, Eul Dean Clark, Ponca; two sons, Donnie Clark, Jasper; Kenny Clark, Berryville; three daughters, Billie Brasel and Kathy Waters, both of Jasper; Deanna Young, Harrison; two brothers, Bill Clark, Alpena; Wayne Clark, Camden and nine grandchildren. Services were at 2p.m. Friday, December 16 at Boxley Baptist Church with Rev. J.E. Clark officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery under the direction of Christeson Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Billy Dale Brasel, Neil Wilkins, Tommy Martin, Alton Campbell, Joe Nance and Oxford Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Swain Lodge. A memorial fund has been set up at the Boxley Baptist Church. Also, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. |
