350 YEARS TO COLEBROOK
a family odyssey by Lowell and Gordon Alexander
This page will provide information on how certain MILLS, FRITZ, HART, SAGE, SEYMOUR,
ADAMS and BROWN families left England in the 17th Century and made their way
to Massachusetts and thence to Connecticut where many of them settled around
the Hartford and Simsbury areas and proceeded to make their fortune. As
time passed, certain of these family descendents migrated through the Connecticut
countryside where one of the MILLS families finally ended up in COLEBROOK,
an unbelievably small town in North Western Connecticut. Meanwhile the
GeorgeJahn FRITZ family came the New York with the German Palatines in
1710. Some descendents of JeorgJahn drifted from the first Palatine settlement
on the Hudson River, through New York State, to finally end up in COLEBROOK
where Robert FRITZ met and married Lena Sage MILLS and eventually they
would become one set of our Grandparents.
