Jan, 26th. Birth
At Green Island Bush, on the 22nd instant, the wife of Rev. Alexander Bethune of a Daughter.

2nd Feb. At Kelvin Grove, North-east Valley, on the 26th ult. the wife of Mr James Hunter of a daughter
At Dunedin, on 28th ult., the wife of Mr John Buarr, junr., of a Daughter.
At Lavenham, Half was Bush, on the 29th ult., the wife of Mr James Auchinleck Cheyne, of a Daughter.

Feb 9th Fatal Accidents. Two men belonging to the punt "Bon Accord," are missing and supposed to have drowned. It appears the punt was anchored off Port Chalmers 5th inst., and the two men, John Dunn and William Hawes, were on shore at the port, and left in the punt's dingy late the same evening with the intention of going on board. Since that time they have not been seen. The boat in which they started was found onshore, a considerable way down the harbour, and the oars and rudder were picked up opposite the heads.

A youth of 17 years age, the son of J. Lovell, Esq., of Sawyers' Bay, lost his life. The deceased, attempted to cross the Clutha by swimming his horse, a totally unnecessary proceeding, as he might have been ferried over. The river was much swollen by the late heavy rains, and the deceased was washed from his horse. The latter reached the opposite bank much exhausted, but its rider presumed drowned.

At Fassfern, Wiahola, on the 3rd instant, by the Rev. William Bannerman, George M'Neil, Esq., Kaikeeki, fifth son of James M'Neil, Esq., Clutha Ferry, to Jane, eldest daughter of Donald M'Master, Esq., Fassfern.

3rd May.
Died. At Tayler's Bay, Lower Harbour, on 26th ult, Emma, age 5 years daughter of Dr. Basire.

7th June
Birth. At Moeraki, on the 23rd inslt., the wife of W.S. Trotter, Esq., of a Son.
Died. At Taylor's Bay, Lower Harbour, on the 6th instant, Rose, aged 3 years, daughter of Dr. Basire.

14th June 1856
Births. At Silver Mains, East Taieri, on the 2nd inst., the wife of Mr James Gibson, of a daughter.
At Halfway Bush, on the 9th inst., the wife of Mr M'Millan of a daughter.

Married. At Princess Street, Dunedin, on the 10th inst., by the Rev. Thomas Burns, Mr James Paterson, Merchant, to Christina S. Stewart, relict of the late Mr Thomas Bain, Clothier.

July 12 Birth. At the West Taieri, on the 2nd instant, the wife of James Fulton, Esq., of a Son.

July 19th. Births. At Waihola Park, on the 23rd ult., the wife of James Gillon, Esq., of a Daughter. 
At Lower Kaikorai, on the 28th ult., Mr David Mason, of a Son

August 2nd. Births. At Cheetwood, South Clutha, on the 8th ult., the wife of Mr W.R. Perkins of a son.
At Awakeko, South Molyneux, on the 23rd ult., the wife of Mr John Henry Perkins of a Son.
At the Kuri Bush, on the 26th ult., the wife of Mr J.E. Smith of a Son.

Sept. 13th Births
At Green Island Bush, on the 4th September, the wife of Mr Thomas Howorth, of a daughter.
At Dunedin, on 9th inst., the wife of Mr Henry Mackinnon, of a daughter.

At Bellsfield, East Taieri, on the 16th inst., the wife of Mr Adam Oliver, of a SON.

Sept. 27th
Married. At Gowan Ha', on the 18th inst., by the Rev. Thomas Burns, Mr George Ross, Merchant, Dunedin, to Margaret Marshall, only daughter of Mr James Marshall, Storekeeper, Dunedin.

Died. At East Taieri, on the 19th inst., of consumption, the Wife of Mr James Allan, aged 51 years, late of Straband, county Tyrone, Ireland, passenger to New Zealand per the New Era.

Oct 18th Births. 
At Bonn, on the Rhine, on the 22nd June last, the wife of Frederick Brock-Hollinshead, Esq., of Brockville, of a Daughter.
At Luther Bank, Saddle Hill, on the 11th October, wife of Mr James Christie, of a Daughter.

Saturday 2 Nov.
Birth. At Invermay, East Taieri, on the 26th ult., the wife of Mr John Gow of a Son.

Notice. The Trustees of the Estate of Henry James M'Coy, late of Otara Point, Mataura River that from this date will not be responsible for any debts contracted by the said.

Nov. 15. Died. At Dunedin, on Monday, the 10th instant, Susan, the wife of Mr John Hill

Dec. 6th. 
Married. On the 13th ult., at Glenham, Mataura, by the Rev. Wm. Bannerman, Nathaniel, youngest son of Dr. W. Chalmers of Brighton, to Ellen Mary, youngest daughter of D. McGrath, Esq., formerly of St Heliers, Jersey.

At High Street, Dunedin, on the 2nd instant, the wife of Mr David Adam of a Daughter.

Dec. 27. Married. On the 11th inst., at Mr T. Howorth's. Green Island, by the Rev. William Will, Mr James Runciman, to Mary, youngest daughter of the late Mr John Binnie, Coachbuilder, Edinburgh.

Oct. 4 
Birth. At Wingatoie, East Taieri, on the 30th ult., the wife of Mr William Stevenson of a Son.
