The history of my Pirece family in New England starts with John who was born in Norwich, England. He was one of the earliest settlers of Watertown, MA. and was a weaver. On April 8th, 1637, just before leaving England for the colonies, he gave is age as fourty-nine and his wife Elizabeth's age as fourty-six. With them came, John, Barbara, Judith, Elizabeth, and a servant by the name of John Gedney. His son Anthony, born in 1609, came to America before his father. Anthony was admitted freeman in Watertown, Sept. 3, 1634.
The name Pierce appears in various spelling in the records. In the early records it appears most often as Pers, Peirce, Pierce, Pearse.

John was admitted as freeman in March 1637-38. He died Aug. 19,1661. In his will dated March 7, 1657, he bequeathed to his widow Elizabeth, and son Anthony and the "rest of" his children.
Elizabeth his widow died March 12, 1666, at about seventy-nine years.
She bequeathed to children: Anthony, Robert, John, Ester Morse, and Mary Coldham; To granddaughters Mary and Ester Ball children of her daughter Elizabeth; John, son of Anthony and Judah; also to daughter of Robert.
