The history of my Fairfield family in New England starts with John Fairfield who was an original proprietor of Wenham Mass.
John was from Cropford, leyden, Essex, England, born abt. 1610, and died Dec. 22, 1646 in Wenham, Mass.

John
married to Elizabeth Knight, who was bapt. April 16, 1615 in England. She died abt. 1649, in Salem, Mass. She was the daughter of Walter Knight of Staplegrove, Summerset, England.

John and Elizabeth Fairfield had a son Walter, whom I descend from.

Walter Fairfield was a Representative of Wenham in the General Court of Massachusetts in 1689 he married Sarah Skipper.

Walter Fairfield and Sarah Skipper had a daughter Sarah Fairfield who married Thomas Abbe of Enfield.

Elizabeth Knight Fairfield married again after John Fairfield's death. Her second husband was Peter Palfrey. There was some litigation between the children of John and Elizabeth and Peter Palfey over John's estate after the death of their mother Elizabeth.
