[NF5926] I found the marriage license for John W. "Knuckles" and Cora Lee Dickerso n, dated 15 July 1891, in the Cape Girardeau County Recorder of Deeds offi ce. As most marriage licenses, no parents are listed. The minister was S ilas J. Symons. I think my next step is to write the Department of Vit al Records in Jefferson City. However, I think the chances for finding a ny birth record might be slim. One lady suggested I call the Farmington ( MO) Public Library (St. Francois County) because they have old microfilm ed obituaries. Maybe Malinda Green's obit could be located

Miss Nuckols has frequently visited Miss L ucile Moore, of the county, who is to be one of the bridesmaids. Miss Jose phine Tarlton of Louisville, who is here this winter teaching at Miss El la Williams' school, will also be one of the bridesmaids:

Plaintiff state as h is cause of action, first, that defendant without couase or excuse disert ed and abandoned Plaintiff July 17, 1904, that said abandonment has been m ore than one year next preceding the filing of this petition for divorc e. Plaintiff for his second cause of action states that Defendant was guil ty of gross neglect of duty failing and refusing to keep house for Plainti ff, and discharging her other duties as wife of Plaintiff. Comes the plaintiff in person and by her attorneys and this cause bei ng at issue is submitted to the court for trial finding and jundgement wit hout the intervention of a jury- and the court having heard the evidence a nd being fully advised in the premises, finds for the plaintiff that s he is entitled to a decree of divorce from the defendant on the grounds al leged in her complaint, and to a restoration of her maiden name. It is the refore considered and adjudged by the court that the bonds of matrimony ex isting between plaintiff and defendant be dissolved and the plaintiff be g ranted a divorce and that her name be restored to that of Lavonia Ford, a nd that she recover of the defendant her costs and charges laid out and ex pended.

Versailles Ky NOv 16- The marriage of Mr Charles M Harris and Miss Jane Nu ckols, daughter of Mr Charles Nuckols, which took place this evening at 5: 30 o'clock at the Christian Church, was a social event of much intere st in this city. The wedding was quiet and simple, no formal invitations h aving been issued. Messrs Charles and Lewis Nuckols, brother and cousin re spectively of the bride; Mr John B Winn and Mr W B Cogan of Midway Ky. T he bride was attired in a traveling costume. Rev W B Taylor, pastor of t he church performed the ceremony and immediately afterward Mr and Mr Harr is left on a trip to Washington and New York. The bride is quite pretty a nd is one of Versailles most charming girls. Mr Harris is a prominent atto rney, junior member of the firm of Wallace and Harris and numbers his frie nds by the score.
