Family Historians:Vera Burbidge Moore is one of our early family
historians; she wrote a number of short histories
about her life and family, and shared them with family
Moiselle Stoney Burbidge , my grandmother, provided us with a great deal of genealogical information and charts. And started me doing genealogy when I helped her put together a Christmas present. It seemed very innocent at the time.
Online Databases (free):
The Ancestral File at FamilySearch.com, although undocumented, has proven to be a valid guide in looking for records for this family. People are usually who they are, and where they are supposed to be.
More resources for the Burbidge family have been published at WorldConnect with sources included. See the Steven D. Crowther Family database by Steve Crowther, which has many good sources. There is another posted by Garret Burbidge at the Eugene Smith Burbidge database; this one has a different descendant line--both at WorldConnect at Rootsweb.com.
Utah Burials Search: This is from the Utah State History Research Center: Archives & History and provides a search engine for many burials throughout Utah.
BYU-Idaho Special Collections includes the Western Marriages Index which is a searchable database from BYU-Idaho details marriages with sources given and will include many of our family members. The State of Idaho Death Index includes information about the Humpheys family who moved into Bear Lake County. There are also many other searchable indexes which are too many to include here. Be sure to visit the main page.
Tracing Mormon Pioneers: This is such a wonderful site! It includes many sources, including the early federal Utah census.
The Welsh Mormon History site should be mentioned as it includes much about the Parry line. And its another wonderful example of what online genealogy and sharing can and should be. Thank you!
Utah Digital Newspapers: Needs to be visited on a regular basis as they are always updating. The Burbidge family figures prominently and its almost too much information -- I shouldn't even think such a thing....
BYU Online Collections: Offers search engine for manuscripts, books, photos and much more. It also includes many references to the Burbidge family.
